London Brighton Car Run

LONDON TO BRIGHTON RUN-01The London to Brighton car rally is an amazing festival celebrated to mark an equally interesting event the1896 Emancipation Run. According to the Emancipation Run, the drivers could increase the speed of their vehicles from 4mph to 14mph and no longer required the services of a man who ran ahead of the car with a red flag in hand warning everyone of the approaching car.

LONDON TO BRIGHTON RUN-02The longest running motoring event of the world takes place every year on the 1st Sunday of November. It became a regular annual event since 1927 and was only interrupted during the 2nd World War and in 1947 when patrol rationing took place. The 60 mile run only allows cars manufactured prior to 1905 to participate. Around 500 vintage cars from all over the world participate in this event. This race presents a good opportunity to the owners of the vintage cars to display their magnificent vehicles. The race starts from Hyde Park in London and ends at Madeira Drive Brighton.
